SBLC Logo The Standish Nature Preserve is one of the oldest Preserves owned by the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy. It is a beautiful, mature hardwood forest with a series of wetlands and a pond that makes a home for many varieties of birds and wildlife.

SBLC Logo Wah Sash Kah Moqua Nature Preserve Wah Sash Kah Moqua Nature Preserve is on Arenac Bay Line Road, a few miles southeast of Standish. Just head north on M13 to Arenac Bay Line Road, a few miles north of Pinconning, then head east a few miles to the reserve.  The parking lot is on Arenac Bay Line Road.

Arrow Little Forks Conservancy Preserves
Little Forks Conservancy The Little Forks Conservancy protects land through acquisition, by either gift or purchase, protecting it as a preserve. Staff and volunteers work together to manage and restore the conservation values on property we own, enhancing the natural features that merited protection. The Conservancy currently holds three preserves: Riverview Natural Area, Averill Preserve and Steiner Preserve, all in Midland.

Rick Snyder Rose City Park in Rose City was a bustling scene on Saturday, August 18 th as more than 30 volunteers, local residents and city officials came together to reduce erosion on Houghton Creek and protect the viewing platforms at this popular park. The City of Rose City was an instrumental partner in making this dynamic project a success. In addition, a big thank you is due to Malcolm Tree Farm of Sterling for donating trees for the project and Green Contracting of Rose City for donating services to install limestone steps on Houghton Creek in the park.
